Ahmed Brothers Materials achieves glass-grade silica sand with a 0.3 MTPA Micrograder line
Ahmed Brothers Materials, a Ghani Group company, commissioned a 0.3 MTPA customised Micrograder F70D silica sand processing line at its Khushab mining site on 1 July 2021. The plant delivers high-purity, glass-grade silica sand for the group's glass production facilities in Pakistan, and was erected and commissioned entirely remotely using CFlo's Smart Technology during Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Ghani Group, a reputed South Asian business house with over 50 years of experience, runs seven modern glass plants in Pakistan producing container glass, float glass and value-added glass with an annual capacity of over 1,570 TPD. Its glass production facilities needed a reliable supply of in-spec, high-purity silica sand from the group's own mines.
Covid-19 added a second challenge: visa restrictions meant CFlo engineers could not travel to Pakistan for installation and commissioning.
CFlo commissioned a 0.3 MTPA customised Micrograder F70D silica sand processing line at the Ahmed Brothers Materials mining site in Khushab, Punjab. The plant uses advanced wet processing to reduce Fe2O3, TiO2, Al2O3 and other contaminants without losing a significant amount of feed material, achieving a purity grade suitable for float glass or container glass production.
The fully automatic, modular plant minimises water use with recycling, conserves power and has zero effluent discharge. Preinstalled IoT sensors connect it to CFlo's Command Centre servers, allowing remote start and stop, daily reports on production, power and water use, and year-round remote support. The entire erection and commissioning was completed remotely by engineers on both sides of the border.
We were looking for a high-purity silica sand processing plant to meet the requirement of our glass production facilities. As a company with many patented products, we knew CFlo's team would understand our requirement for in-spec sand and provide a solution that is cost-effective and eco-friendly in its own right.
