Pacific Industries lifts iron ore Fe grade by 10% with NanoWash in Jabalpur

Pacific Iron Manufacturing installed CFlo's iron ore processing plant with NanoWash technology in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, to serve steel and ironmakers who demand high Fe grades and minimum silica. The 285 TPH plant increased the Fe grade of the finished ore by 10% and recovers up to 50% of the feed, with material now captured down to 25 microns.

The Challenge

Iron ore fines at the Pacific Industries site contained high amounts of liberated silica, and processing with old equipment such as a Drum Scrubber and Screw Classifier did not remove it. The silica dragged down the Fe grade, deterred buyers in the steel and ironmaking industry and rang up operational costs. The old washing system separated only at 150 microns, washing away precious ore.

The Solution

CFlo's wet processing plant with NanoWash technology washes the raw feed at 285 TPH, significantly reducing silica content and making the ore market-ready. The technology recovers material down to 25 microns, creating a whole new product category that was previously completely washed away, and separates the output into three distinct products with significantly higher Fe grade.

The Results

The Jabalpur plant now sells washed and processed ore of >5mm to DRI end users, and 0.045-5mm and 0.025-0.045mm fractions to pellet plant end users in Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
