Two consecutive Combo plants deliver M-Sand for the Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway
Raj Infrastructure Development (India) Private Limited needed a consistent supply of graded M-Sand for its 29.3 km package of the Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway, the project linking Mumbai to Nagpur and cutting commute time from 14 hours to 8. CFlo installed two consecutive Combo sand washing plants, a Combo X70 and a Combo X70-D, within 100 metres of each other at Shirdi, a company record.
Founded in 1996, Raj Infrastructure built its reputation on road construction, beginning with bituminous roads before shifting focus to washed manufactured sand as concrete roads became the norm. In March 2021 the company, a sub-contractor of Gayatri Projects Limited on the Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway, approached CFlo for an economical, ecologically sound and quality-controlled supply of M-Sand. Within a few months of the first plant's commissioning, the project's pace demanded a second sand washing plant of similar capability to finish on schedule without compromising quality.
Plant 1, a Combo X70 from CFlo's flagship Combo platform, operates for more than 16 hours a day. The 70 TPH plant runs at a rated power capacity of 110 kW, converts fine stone dust to IS Grade M-Sand for ready-mix concrete, and processes an accurate cut point of 75 microns with zero liquid discharge, 95% water recycling and minimal maintenance. The client sealed the deal within 15 days of the first meeting, and the plant has been in operation since March 2022.
Plant 2, a Combo X70-D, was commissioned in August 2022, within five months of the first, to ensure continuous supply of IS:383 graded M-Sand. Technological upgrades in its Polymax Polymer Dosing Station reduce flocculant depletion and power consumption, saving up to Rs 5 per ton in operating cost and cutting the plant's overall inventory cost.
